Without clients, you got nuthin'

When I was first trying to figure out how to be more successful in business, I realized with some embarrassment that I had neglected thinking very much about clients. I was so busy focusing on products and services that I neglected what is arguably even more important, which is who they are for and who is going to want them and buy them.

A model of client abundance

This is a common mistake entrepreneurs make until you are ready to be seriously successful. Do you let clients sort of “show up” on their own? Without seeking them out so they can easily find your brilliance? This, my beloved client, is not a model of abundance. And that's what I will build for you. It's all about bringing a little awareness, fun, clarity and planning to what matters for your success: the amazing people supporting you: your clients.

Finding and building your community

All businesses by definition need people to BE in business. Your customers make or break your bottom line. So you gotta find 'em. And to find 'em, you gotta know WHERE they are both on and offline. And to know where they are, you gotta know WHO they are. That leads to the process that marketing mavens call discovering or outlining your “avatar,” or ideal client.

Profile of your avatar / ideal client

Creating an ideal client avatar or personlfication is an amazing process. Just doing this will move your business forward significantly. If you don't see how or know it yet, trust in the fact that so many successful people stand by this process. This exercise feels weird to almost everyone at first because you've never done it or quite thought this way. But once you get a glimmer of where it leads, you'll understand its power.

If you already know who your ideal client is, what they like to do and where they like to go, great. Then I help you create and take your message to those people in those places. Chances are good that, as an entrepreneur with a unique message and brilliance, you like to go to those places too (or you wouldn't have created your unique business to begin with). So you can see how much fun lies ahead for you. And this is just the start.

Find your clients online and offline

Your clients are everywhere. Once we define together who he or she is, things get cookin'. I will help you see how to tap into where they are living, relaxing, working, playing, traveling and searching online and you will never lack for clients again.

your voice

Getting past visibility blocks; fears of being heard and seen

Your brand's voice must be heard. Visibility blocks are a common stumbling block for entrepreneurs and there are several ways to conquer them. I know from personal experience what this is like. No matter how much praise, encouragement or positive feedback you have gotten, many of us have deeply held feelings of unworthiness, primarily unconscious and these deeply-rooted monsters hold us back from the success we are meant to live.

What I found, to my surprise and happiness, is that simply moving forward can move us past these fears. It's the “I'm doing it anyway” school. The hugely powerful thing about aligning with your ideal clients is that being in a community of amazing people you have gathered, in itself can move you past your blocks.

The community you build will be so nurturing that you move past fear. You end up not having time to waste on your fears and they drop away because your focus is on the amazing world around you. Ahhhh.

For a thriving business, you'll want to create ways to communicate with your community on an ongoing basis. Vehicles that effectively let you be heard and draw in your beautiful clients include:
